The
Challenge.

A massive water-guzzling traditional lawn was costing the client thousands in water bills during summer droughts. The existing topography presented unique drainage challenges, and the soil composition required extensive amendment before any planting could begin.

Our
Solution.

We replaced the traditional grass with a specialized clover-fescue micro-clover blend that stays green year-round, requires 70% less water, and never needs fertilizer. We implemented a comprehensive terracing strategy utilizing native stone, which not only solved the erosion issues but created natural, intimate gathering spaces throughout the elevation changes.

The plant palette was carefully selected to provide year-round architectural interest while minimizing water requirements, resulting in a sanctuary that is both environmentally responsible and visually arresting.
