The
Challenge.

A sloped, muddy side-yard was completely unusable and causing drainage issues for the foundation. The existing topography presented unique drainage challenges, and the soil composition required extensive amendment before any planting could begin.

Our
Solution.

We engineered a stepped flagstone pathway integrated with a French drain system, lined with moss and shade-tolerant ferns for a calming Zen effect. We implemented a comprehensive terracing strategy utilizing native stone, which not only solved the erosion issues but created natural, intimate gathering spaces throughout the elevation changes.

The plant palette was carefully selected to provide year-round architectural interest while minimizing water requirements, resulting in a sanctuary that is both environmentally responsible and visually arresting.
